Uniforms and other Scouting items can be purchased at various locations. Current information is available from the Unit when needed. Contact one of the unit leaders or committe members for more information. Uniform inspections will be conducted on a routine basis. Troop 445 has a strong commitment to the Boy Scout uniform; it is an equalizer and constant reminder of the fine organization it represents. Essentially, every Troop Scouting evnt will require that a Class A or B uniform be worn. Each member of Troop 445, youth or adult, must have a Class A Scout Uniform within 45 days of joining the Troop (certain exceptions will be granted). Each member of Troop 445, youth and adult should have a class B uniform as soon as possible. In particular, Scout leaders (youth and adults) shall take extra efforts to ensure that they are exemplary in wearing their uniforms (so as to set a good example). This pertains to uniform appearance, cleanliness-completeness and insignias. The Class A uniform consists of the following: BSA cap* BSA shirt (short or long sleeve) with proper insignia BSA belt with BSA belt buckle BSA shorts or pants BSA socks (BSA knee socks for shorts, or ordinary height socks for pants). Tennis shoes or hiking boots. (open toed shoes or flip flops will not be allowed) BSA neckership or Troop neckerchief* with BSA or other acceptable slide* Class B Uniform (worn as instructed by Troop leadership, when activities may cause damage to field uniform). Troop 445 T-shirt Tennis shoes or hiking boots. Socks are required. Scout pants or shorts. Boy Scout Socks, for wearing with shorts. *Troop 445 ballcaps and Troop neckerchief, $8.00, and Troop Class B shirt, $8.00 may be purchased from the Troop treasurer. |
